Project Goth Rocket E92 M3: Part 2

Building upon the previous upgrades of the Bilstein Clubsport Suspension, GTS Aero, Corner Weight Balancing and Geometry Setup Project Goth Rocket is being treated to an Akrapovic exhaust, PFC Z-rated pads, Motul RBF660 brake fluid, Akrapovic Evolution Line Titanium Exhaust and H&R Roll Bars.

The PFC pads and Motul brake fluid will help the stock braking system cope with the higher heat experienced on track, giving a much more consistent pedal and friction level where the OE BMW products would begin to lose performance. The H&R ARBs will help increase the spring rate during cornering, helping to control body roll.

Combining tangible power and torque gains with lower weight, improved sound and aesthetic the Akrapovic Evolution Line Titanium Exhaust is often considered to be the ultimate exhaust for the E92 M3, and it’s hard to argue otherwise.

The Akrapovic Evolution Line Titanium Exhaust is a complete, ultra lightweight header back exhaust system which includes high-flow sports cats, x-pipe for a smooth tone, performance silencers and an option of carbon or titanium tips. The titanium tips complement the Frozen Black perfectly.

Once the installation was completed Ryan’s E92 M3 headed on to our newly purchases geometry setup gear which allows us to accurately measure and adjust camber, caster and toe. Essential for any track action as optimised geometry can be the difference between extremely precise handling and sloppy to unstable handling.

Once fully set up Ryan headed to the Rockingham Track Addict track day in his E92 M3 to put all of the modifications to the test. Even with the factory (yes, 10-year-old) Michelin Super Sports the improvement in handling provided by the Bilstein Clubsport Suspension, H&R Roll Bars, Corner Balancing and Geometry Setup was immediately noticeable and enjoyable.
