The AWE Tuning Touring Edition is a Downpipe Back exhaust system. Leaving the factory cats in place in the downpipes, meaning MOT compliance, and no Check Engine Lights. The amazing sound is thanks to the x-pipe design, and AWE Tuning 180 Technology mufflers which also eliminate unwanted drone frequency, resulting in improved tone and volume without the unwanted in cabin resonance common with lesser systems.
The stock system leaves a lot to be desired in terms of aesthetics and sound.

Whilst here, this customer also wanted to know how to further improve the acceleration now that the exhaust note was taken care of. Being the APR Dealer for the South of the UK, we explained the huge performance gains available with an APR ECU calibration, as well as the options to have multiple modes such as valet (very limited power), 95 RON, stock and anti-theft modes which proved irresistible! At the same time, we upgraded the DSG software to allow for much faster shifting, proper manual mode and adjustable launch control. FUN!
Once flashed we head to our in-house Mustang MD-500 AWD chassis dyno, which coincidentally is the same chassis dyno which APR theirselves use.
The power was lifted up to 527HP & 600TQ, well above the factory 420HP & 400TQ whilst retaining the silky smooth Audi drivability.
