For Volkswagen Audi Group Models, Regal Autosport have chosen to supply APR. We have had fantastic results with our own in house MK7 Golf R DSG, and have been racking up the track day miles as well as using the car on a daily basis.

Here at Regal Autosport we are the only dealer in the UK to have the same Mustang MD-500 AWD Dyno that APR use, our Mustang Dyno is operating with custom TAT software. The Dyno is a mechanically linked strain gauge type dynamic load cell dyno. Mechanically linked dyno’s are much kinder to 4wd cars running gear than other dyno variants. APR’s ECU Upgrades are the best pound-per-horsepower modification one can make to VW Audi Group models. The upgrades dramatically increase horsepower and torque, making for an exceptionally quicker and more exciting vehicle. This is made possible through APR’s optimisation of the factory engine management system to take full advantage of the engine’s capabilities, without needing any end user adjustment. APR ECU Upgrade

 APR’s ECU Upgrades are the best pound-per-horsepower modification one can make to your Volkswagen Audi Group vehicle. The upgrades dramatically increase horsepower and torque, making for an exceptionally quicker and more exciting vehicle. This is made possible through APR’s optimisation of the factory engine management system to take full advantage of the engine’s capabilities, without needing any end user adjustment. The software loads to the factory ECU through the OBD-II port in most applications, resulting in a clean and headache-free install. Optional features, such as APR’s EMCS Program Switching and APR Mobile are available APR ECU upgrade are available in multiple stages, supporting various octanes both with or without any hardware upgrades. Specific software is available for standard cars (Stage 1) and Stage 2/3 for cars with upgrades. The Stage 2/3 upgrades depend upon the application. 

Race Fuel Information: Higher octane fuel typically allows APR’s engineers to create more power and torque by achieving greater ignition advance. However, on this application, APR’s engineers were able to achieve MBT, or minimum spark timing for best torque, on 98 RON fuel at Stage II power levels. MBT is essentially the point where greater ignition advance no longer results in more power and torque.

APR ECU Upgrade

APR’s TCU (DSG or S-Tronic) upgrade goes beyond the overly simplistic norm of raising a few limiters, and offers a wide gamut of changes designed to enhance the driving experience especially when combined with APR’s performance engine software and hardware. With an in-depth knowledge of the transmission’s inner workings and control strategies, APR’s engineers have improved many aspects of the transmission from accelerative performance to daily drivability, while also incorporating new features including several typically reserved for higher-end Audi Quattro GmbH RS models

Typical enhancements include:

• Faster acceleration through application specific optimized shift points. 

• Drive and Sport mode shift maps custom tailored to APR’s power upgrades.

• User adjustable 3-step multi-launch control RPM limits.

• User definable* max launch control RPM.

• User definable* manual mode downshifts via the kick-down switch (on/off).

• User definable* manual mode upshifts at max engine speed (on/off).

• Manual mode / TT mode paddle response times optimized.

• Manual mode / TT mode downshift time optimized.

• Launch control response enhanced for quicker launches.

• Torque intervention limits raised while retaining critical protection routines.

• Temperature management optimized.

• Gear display enabled in Drive and Sport.

• Downshift “lockout” disabled below previous gear’s max RPM.

*APR’s DirectPort Programming suite allows the end user to tailor the TCU upgrade to their needs at the time of installation.

The APR ECU software for the Golf 7R increases power and torque through increasing boost pressure, optimising ignition timing, cam timing, valve lift, lambda and more! An added bonus of the APR ECU software is that it provides this excellent leap in horsepower and torque whilst retaining OEM knock control sensitivity and other built-in safety parameters.

This vehicle was an otherwise stock 2016 manual vehicle with just under 1500 miles on the clock. After hearing the results proven from our in-house car, the customer had to have the upgrade!

As part of the customers ARP ECU software purchase, he also had the option of taking us up on the complimentary before and after rolling road runs on offer. This allows us to test the vehicle safely (not on the road) whilst logging all of the vehicle parameters of interest. Whilst also having the added bonus of a print out of stock power vs. Stage 1 power.

APR Sideburn Fender Decals

This die cut vinyl design was created in house for use on APR’s fleet of employee and R&D vehicles and is now available to the public. Each set includes a passenger and driver side decal that is intentionally longer than necessary to allow fitment on nearly all vehicles after trimming. Simply choose the color combination that works best with the vehicle’s paint scheme and enjoy!.
